Early childhood educators provide optimal health, safety and well-being for all children within early learning and care settings. To understand the roles and responsibilities of the individual, team and community, current health and safety information, the types and levels of child abuse and knowing how to respond to various situations in a professional manner will be examined. Emphasis will be placed on municipal, provincial, and national legislation and regulations regarding human rights, child protection, health and safety, as they relate to diverse early learning and care environments.
