A focus on the concepts of mental health and illness begins this course, and challenges students to consider emotional well-being as a continuum of experience. Aspects of personality, the impact of development and systems, stigma, and mental health are all considered. Students are introduced to basic models of care and consideration including self-help and the use of DSM diagnostic tools.
