Academic Year

2016-2017

This course applies the fundamentals learned in Refrigeration 1 to more complex systems. Students will advance their understanding of refrigerants, their applications and characteristics. Through the use of pressure-enthalpy, pressure-temperature and psychrometric charts, various system calculations will be performed to determine component selection, sizing and system balancing. Students will study equipment and component parts including pipe sizing and application of refrigeration components. The course also encompasses the operation and characteristics of air to air and air to water heat pumps.
