Students spend 12 weeks immersed in a work placement in which they apply the range of skills, techniques, and systematic approaches to the research process that have been covered in the classroom and laboratories. Typically, students are engaged in ongoing research projects where they will work with industry experts toward a common goal. They will be involved to varying extents in planning, proposing, designing, developing, evaluating, executing and interpreting research as needed and as directed by their internship supervisor.
