This advanced course explores: (1) methodological issues in criminal justice studies such as validity, reliability, measurement tools and research ethics in social sciences; (2) career criminals and repeat offenders with special emphasis on white-collar or corporate crime, deviance and organized crime; (3) integrated theories and theoretical models in criminology and criminal justice; and (4) mental health issues in the criminal justice system and mental health court. This is a seminar-based course, which is designed to provide students with the theoretical background to critically analyze abstract and real-world problems.
