This is the first of two courses designed to give students practical learning experiences in producing content for information and entertainment television and new media projects. It provides opportunities to develop an understanding of the marketplace as well as methods which students can employ to further their television production careers. The course provides hands-on instruction for the television marketplace, mini-documentary production for news-style programs, live (or live-to-tape) segment production, reality programming production experience and for new media content development. This course introduces students to the individuals that make the decisions in the television industry and establishes the network that will guide and enable their careers.
