XML and Web Services

This course is an introduction to XML and web services. Students learn the extensible markup language (XML), including how to write documents, validate documents, and parse and manipulate documents. Students also develop and consume web services to enable application integration within different platforms. Techniques for securing web services are presented, as well as design patterns for web services. Students learn how to employ XML in different data exchange applications, for the web, e-commerce and n-tier architectures. Students also develop web services to enable application integration within different platforms.
