Note: This course is designed to offer a supportive and empathetic learning experience. It includes self-directed online learning that learners will complete at their own pace before attending the scheduled in-person practice day and practical exam.
Additional Details:
This hybrid course includes 8 hours of self-directed, asynchronous learning, followed by two in-person lab days.
During the in-person days, learners will practice techniques on each other. While this may feel vulnerable, it is an essential part of your learning journey. Practicing on fellow learners allows you to experience the treatment firsthand, deepening your understanding of the techniques and how they feel from a client’s perspective. This shared experience fosters empathy and insight into the vulnerability clients may feel, helping you to create a safe and compassionate environment for them.
Practice treatment will be done under the supervision of a registered massage therapy professional with experience in this specialized field. If you feel uncomfortable receiving the treatment during practice or the exam, you are welcome to bring a replacement person (of any gender) to step in for you.
Our goal is to ensure you feel supported, confident, and ready to provide compassionate care. Vulnerability is a part of the healing process, and we are here to guide you through every step, ensuring you feel comfortable and empowered to offer a safe environment for your clients.
An instructor will be available throughout the course to facilitate your learning and answer any questions you may have. Detailed information regarding in-person days will be provided in advance by the instructor.
