The new five storey, 93,000 SF CTI facility completed in 2019 pioneer's a new model of education focused on collaboration and partnership with the communities Humber serves and on technological advances that are needed for the 21st century.

Building on Humber’s expertise in automation and robotics, systems integration, design, augmented and virtual reality, and user experience testing, The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation (CTI) is a powerhouse of technological innovation. In the new space, interdisciplinary teams of faculty, students and technicians partner with businesses and community organizations to solve real-world problems. Incorporating open, flexible spaces, interactive makerspaces, multimedia and design studios, state-of-the-art software and equipment, and a digital visualization room, the CTI’s collaborative approach will reduce R&D costs and risks, making it easier for companies to pursue innovative ideas and technological advancements.

Construction of the CTI has been made possible through a generous donation from the Barrett Family Foundation as well as funding support from the federal government’s postsecondary institutions’ Strategic Investment Fund.
