Leading with our values

Exterior of Lakeshore Campus

We are entering week eight of working from home. These past weeks at Humber have been filled with challenges and triumphs, as we have all worked to adapt to the current situation. While eight weeks has sometimes felt like a very long time; in truth, it is fairly short when you consider that we have had to change a great deal of what we do and how we do it.

At Humber, we are experiencing significant impacts on how we work, collaborate and support our students.

This has led us to issue a commitment to Humber staff, that is guided by our institutional values. Here are some of the key elements of this commitment:

  • We will continue to be bold in charting a new course in high-quality education and we will drive innovation and creative enterprise.
  • We will cultivate an environment where all individuals can achieve their full potential.
  • We will nurture the health and well-being of our communities, and will remain dedicated to preserving our collective future.

The full details can be found in my latest President’s Message.

We have also created a Humber At Home pledge that outlines how we can support each other while we work from home and do our best to offer our critical programs, services and supports.

As a community, we have found new ways to provide virtual services to our students and we will continue to innovate to help support their success. In an upcoming blog, I will share details of our commitment to students.

In the meantime, please continue to share your #HumberAtHome experiences with us. It has been a pleasure to see and read about the innovative ways in which teams are connecting, students are showcasing their work and people are staying motivated. I look forward to more in the days and weeks to come.

Be well. Stay safe.
