Student Services Update

Dear Students,

As you know, Humber campuses remain closed until further notice.

As Summer 2020 semester programs and courses are being delivered remotely/online, we are committed to continuing to provide many online services to support your academic and personal success. We will work hard to meet your needs by phone, online, and using tools such as Blackboard or Microsoft Teams to maintain a virtual, personal connection.

Our aim, as always, is to support your health and well-being. We will adjust our plans and offerings in response to changing conditions and your feedback.

We understand this is a challenging time. If at any time you need immediate personal support or counselling, you can access the Good2Talk Helpline at 1-866-925-5454, or use Therapy Assist Online, which provides online and mobile tools.

View the categories below to discover more about the services and supports available to you. This content is subject to change and will be updated regularly.

Academic and Learning Supports

Accounting Centre

The Accounting Centre services are available by using the Live Support link via our website https://business.humber.ca/current-students/resources/learning-labs/accounting-centre.html or by email at accountingcentre@humber.ca.

Our hours of operation are:
Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Bookstore

For the summer term the Bookstores located at North and Lakeshore Campuses will be offering an online shopping experience. The physical store will not be accessible. Students will place their orders and we will process them in-store and ship them to their home or an address of their choice with 24-48 hours for a small fee. If an item is not available in our store, that order will be sent to another Campus Store within our chain for fulfillment. Delivery time for these will be 72-96 hours.

To place orders go to:

North Campus Bookstore - www.humbershop.ca  or  https://www.bkstr.com/humberitstore

Lakeshore Campus Bookstore - www.humberlakeshoreshop.ca

Since we have not been in-store for 6 weeks it will take us 1 to 2 weeks to receive our inventory and prepare for this new term.  However our goal is to be ready to fulfill orders for the first day of Humber classes (May 19th)

For University of Guelph Humber the Textbook/ Course Material list is active on your site now. We will hopefully will be receiving inventory next week for your May 1 start date.

For students with rentals from the Winter term, Follett (Campus Bookstore) has extended the April 22nd rental return date without penalty for this academic semester until May 6. Please return your rented textbook using the Purolator prepaid label provided by the Campus Bookstore to the store you originally rented from.

To receive a prepaid label please:

  • Email the following contact information to either 1) North Campus Bookstore -  0947mgr@follett.com or 2) Lakeshore Campus Bookstore - 0948mgr@follett.com
  • Please include your First and Last name, your complete mailing address, email address and phone number.
  • Prior to the end of the term your campus bookstore will email a Purolator prepaid shipping label to you.
  • Please package your textbook(s), attach the prepaid shipping label and take your package to the nearest Purolator drop-off location to be returned. (Note: the Campus Store cannot arrange pick-up). Please include your name and telephone number in with your book.

Your patience is appreciated during these unprecedented times. While in the store we will be practicing physical/social distancing, washing our hands, wearing masks and gloves as well as sanitizing common areas of each store regularly.

Parking and Lockers

Humber will be adjusting the amount of parking permit fees and applying a prorated refund to Humber accounts. You are not required to return your parking permit or lot access card.

The parking kiosk at North Campus is staffed by security from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Parking can be reached at 416-675-6622 ext. 4416 or parking.sales@humber.ca.

Effective Saturday, March 28, access to campus/lockers will no longer be permitted unless there is a specific emergency reason to do so, such as the retrieval of medication or the student has returned from abroad and will not be at Humber for the foreseeable future. In these scenarios, students must email deanofstudents@humber.ca in order to receive permission and/or direction to come on campus.

Students who may need to clear out their lockers have been contacted directly with a schedule of when they may come to campus to do so. These visits will be staggered by campus and last name to adhere to physical distancing measures and limit the number of people on campus. If a student has missed their scheduled week to be on site to clear their locker, they can email locker.sales@humber.ca.
