The Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (Longo CfE) supports Humber and Guelph-Humber students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members by providing resources and support in developing early-stage ideas and innovative thinking. Through interdisciplinary programs and partnerships with startups, small businesses, and organizations, we offer experiential learning opportunities that help you grow and apply your knowledge.

Hackathons and Challenges

Students apply their skills in real-world settings while thinking like entrepreneurs. Partnering with local companies, students gain valuable work-integrated learning experiences. Opportunities include multi-week Challenges (up to 40 hours) and fast-paced Hackathons (up to 16 hours), with some offering cash prizes or incentives.

Keys to Entrepreneurship Modules

Learn and discover the fundamentals of entrepreneurship through our 4 part Key to Entrepreneurship Modules.

Longo Family Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) Workshops

A series of 7 workshops offered in person focused on strengthening a business idea and the tools to do so. Ideal for those in the ideation stage of their business idea. Includes a pitch competition for Humber/Guelph-Humber students and High School students.

Longo Incubator

A 12-week program offered in a hybrid setting focused on validating a business idea and the tools needed to bring the idea to life. Includes seed funding in the form of grants for top participants.

BMO Launch Me Program

A series of 5 online workshops focused on creating a business plan and participating in the BMO Launch Me Pitch Competition for a chance to win a share of $130,000!

Placements and Longo Advisory

Students apply their skills in real-world settings while gaining experience and professional connections. Work directly with startups and founders to experience a fast-paced, innovative environment firsthand. Put your skills to the test in meaningful, hands-on ways while building your resume and network.
