BASIC Maintenance Course
This short course gives the student the chance to learn
how to keep his or her motorcycle in good running order and how to recognize
things that will require an expert touch.
Is this course for me?
For those who would like to learn how to do some basic maintenance from
oil changes to brake pads or for those looking to gain a better understand
the mechanics of the bike, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
What will I learn?
The workings of internal combustion 4-stroke engines, a detailed technical
inspection and some tips on what to look for when buying a used motorcycle.
Learn how to get your bike ready for the riding season or how to prepare
it for the winter hibernation.
What do I get at the end of
the course?
The skills that will enable you to do some of your own work increasing
owner pride and saving you a few dollars along the way.
How long is the course?
This course is one full day.
What do I need to bring?
Comfortable clothing, a pen and a notepad. Students are encouraged to
bring their own motorcycle if desired.
Where and when can I take the course?
This course is offered on Sundays throughout the year and is held at the
Humber College Transportation Training Centre
office (Hwy. 27 North of Finch Avenue, above Mark's Work Wearhouse).
The class starts at 9:00 am, please be there ahead of time. A complete

How much does it cost?
The cost of the course including taxes is $145.

ADVANCED Maintenance Courses
The "Advanced Maintenance Course" covers such
topics as brakes, clutches, suspensions, fuel systems, electrics etc...
students can register for the entire course or individual modules.
Is this course for me?
For the student who wants to learn more about the mechanics of the motorcycle
and take the repair and maintenance of their own machine to a new level.
What will I learn?
The course has sessions devoted entirely to individual components of the
motorcycle. Hands-on workshops will be conducted on the brakes, clutches,
suspensions, electrics and fuel systems.
What do I get at the end of
the course?
A much greater understanding of what makes the motorcycle tick and how
to both identify and fix problem areas.
How long is the course?
There are 6 evenings scheduled for this program. Each is approximately
3 hours in duration and will focus on the individual components as outlined.
What do I need to bring?
It is recommended that each participant come with a basic set of tools
that should include, screwdrivers, wrenches (metric and / or adjustable),
pliers and personal choice. NOTE: Tools will be available for student
use if you do not have the equipment to bring.

How much does it cost?
The cost of this 6-session course is $350.
Individual sessions can be booked for $75 each.
