As part of its consultation process on the future of postsecondary education in Ontario, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities requested that all postsecondary institutions in the province submit a Strategic Mandate Agreement (SMA).
The institutions’ SMAs would include a proposed mandate statement, vision, and three priority objectives.
Through the work of an SMA task force, Humber has now submitted this agreement as a first step in an ongoing dialogue with the Ministry.
The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) will now establish a peer-review panel to evaluate the initial submissions and identify a shortlist of universities and colleges that will serve as models of advanced learning in the 21st century.
Humber is now awaiting feedback and will keep the community updated as the dialogue progresses.
