Health and Safety Training for New Employees

As we head into the summer months, we welcome many new workers to our campuses. As part of Humber’s commitment to creating a safe and healthy workplace, and in compliance with legislated requirements, all Humber employees are required to complete health and safety training. This also applies to all summer employees, including work-study and other student workers.

Humber’s online Employee Health & Safety Awareness Course is accessible via Blackboard and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. The course provides all employees with a basic understanding of workplace health and safety at Humber, and outlines rights and responsibilities as a Humber employee. To register, please email healthandsafety@humber.ca and provide the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Employee number (n-number)
  • Department/Faculty
  • Manager/Associate Dean name
  • Start of employment/contract

In addition, certain roles will require additional training for potential or existing hazards that may be present in your specific workplace. Speak with your manager to determine if additional safety training is required.

We invite all new employees to review the Safety Awareness for New & Young Workers at Humber brochure.
