Reflections on Summer

The Humber Arboretum with lush, greenery in full bloom on either side of a dirt path.

There have been many reminders over the last eighteen months about what is important.

We have learned a great deal about each other, about our history and about what we want our future to be.

I appreciate all of the Humber staff and students who have shared their personal stories over recent months and how we continue to support each other as a community.

As we look ahead to the rest of the summer, there is reason for hope. As more people across the province get vaccinated and we move to the next phases of reopening in Ontario, there will be more opportunities to be together in ways that we have missed throughout the pandemic.

For me personally, I am looking forward to spending time safely with my family and friends. I am also looking forward to spending time outdoors especially by a pool or a lake.

The summer may hold very different things for each of us, but I hope it provides an opportunity for more time with friends and family as well as some rest and relaxation.

I look forward to welcoming more staff and students back to campus in September.

Take care.
